Spaces (Volume 1)
Notes, Stories, Explorations from Southeast Asia
2020
'Spaces' gathers visual narratives, interviews and stories about the ways in which spaces are created, experienced and lived in both urban and rural areas. It reveals the complex dimensions of physical and symbolic spaces through a range of sub-topics including cultural expression, identity, movement, interaction, landscapes and natural resources. A particular emphasis is made on the flexible adaptation of local cultures in the global era, as well as the creativity of "non-creative" environments.
With contributions by Supawut Boonmahanakorn (JaiBaan Studio), Netting Jaruwan Supolrai (Mekong Nomad Organic Farm), Bintang Putra and Kenta Kishi (@habitatstudies), Tessa Bunney (@tessabunney), Vipavee Kittitien (@santarana), Adib Jalal (@adibjalal) and Ayip Budiman (@kopikultur).

Beyond Objects
Intangible connections in everyday life.
2019
Situated at a crossroad between creative exploration, visual anthropology, and cultural studies, this research is driven by a specific interest to look at craft in connection to everyday life rather than artistic realms. In order to understand and evaluate the social dimensions surrounding craft beyond artistic objects, the project picked various locations as starting points, then progressively moved to identify links between local situations, craft practices and broader contexts bridging traditional cultures, modernization in Korea as well as global transformations. The different stories gathered here are testimonies about the social and cultural aspects that influence or affect craft practices in Cheongju and its surrounding areas in north Chungcheongbuk-do. They raise questions about the ways in which craft cultures are lived by local people and makers.

Hitokoto
Landscapes of the Heart
2018
Hitokoto in Japanese means ‘one word’ but it also can mean a brief exchange of words. A brief moment that unknowingly appears and vanishes. Fragments holding a poetic universe, a reflection, a spiritual encounter. From the mountain roads of Niigata to the shores of the Seto islands, the book gathers images and notes that I have produced along the way.
